First President's Letter from Damon Baker, DO, MACOI
It is an honor and a privilege to be the President of the ACOI, an organization that has meant so much to me throughout my career. We are coming off a great convention in Marco Island where we had 800 in-person and over 800 virtual attendees.
ACOI 2025 was a successful week that gave members a memorable, high-quality experience rich in education, networking, and more. Both members who joined us in Marco Island and virtual attendees had the chance to access interactive educational sessions, thought-provoking panel discussions, and inspiring keynote presentations. ACOI featured over 55 sessions and hosted over 1600 attendees for the Annual Convention.
Voices Across ACOI: How Mentorship and Membership Go Hand-in-Hand
ACOI 2025, held October 8 through 11, 2025, focused on “The Power of Physician Leadership.” Over the course of the convention, it became clear that leadership is about so much more than simply being in a leadership role. It’s also about everything that goes into developing leadership skills, including the relationships and personal growth acquired along the way.
Congratulations to the ACOI 2025 Student and Resident/Fellow Poster Contest Finalists
The American College of Osteopathic Internists (ACOI) is proud to recognize the outstanding 2025 poster contest finalists. The finalists were awarded at ACOI 2025, held October 8-11 in Marco Island, Florida. 131 posters were presented by 120 students, residents, and fellows. The ACOI poster contest is one of the largest in the osteopathic profession.
During the ACOI 2025 Convocation of Fellows and Awards Ceremony, ACOI awarded several additional honors to members. Among those awards was the inaugural Robert G. Good, DO, MACOI Student Leadership Award. This award was created in honor of Robert G. Good, DO, MACOI, and will be presented annually to a student leader who lives out the dedication, commitment, and selfless service Dr. Good exemplifies.
ACOI Congratulates its 2025 Fellows and Master Fellows
ACOI is delighted to announce the induction of 47 new Fellows, as well as nine new members of the Gillum Society of Master Fellows. During the ACOI 2025 Convocation of Fellows and Awards Ceremony on Friday, October 10, ACOI president-elect Dr. Damon L. Baker and president Dr. Susan Enright led ACOI in recognizing these accomplished individuals.

The American College of Osteopathic Internists (ACOI), a national professional organization representing osteopathic internal medicine physicians and subspecialists, has announced the appointment of Damon L. Baker, DO, MACOI, as President for 2025-2026. The announcement was made during the ACOI 2025 Annual Convention & Scientific Sessions in Marco Island, Florida.
