ACOI Congratulates its 2026 Fellows and Master Fellows

by ACOI

October 28, 2026

ACOI is delighted to announce the induction of 49 new Fellows, as well as eight new members of the Gillum Society of Master Fellows. During the ACOI 2026 Convocation of Fellows and Awards Ceremony on Friday, October 9, ACOI President Dr. C. Clark Milton and immediate Past President Dr. Damon L. Baker led ACOI in recognizing these accomplished individuals.

The Convocation of Fellows & Awards Ceremony also celebrated the 2026 recipients of the ACOI Awards. Mia Taormina, DO, FACOI, was presented with the 2026 Internist of the Year Award. John Arthur, DO, received the Anthony J. Malcoun DO, MACOI Emerging Leader Award. The following resident physicians received the David Susser, DO, MACOI Award: Mitchell Boshkos, DO; Ahmad Fouad Chaban, DO; Alexander Douglas, DO; Michele Guyette, DO; Alyssa Lambrecht, DO; Batoul Sadek, DO; Brooklynn Scherer, DO; and Aliyah Stephens, MS, DO. The Robert G. Good, DO, MACOI Student Leadership Award was presented to Marisela Benitez, OMS-III.

To apply for the title of ACOI Fellow, candidates must be nominated by a standing Fellow and endorsed by a second physician colleague (who may or may not be a Fellow). ACOI Fellows, once accepted, get access to professional recognition, meaningful community engagement, and extensive leadership opportunities. Contributing to ACOI committees, engaging with the Board of Directors, and taking on speaking opportunities are a few of the many ways Fellows make their mark on the ACOI and osteopathic internist community.

Fellows are eligible to become Master Fellows after holding the designation of Fellow for 15 consecutive years. They must also be certified by an AOA or ABMS-recognized certifying board, and be an active member in good standing of ACOI with no current medical license requirements. Nominees demonstrate a commitment to the practice of medicine through participation in teaching programs and on hospital, local, state, and national society committees; a continued pursuit of knowledge through participation in continuing education programs; and adherence to the professional and ethical standards as established by ACOI.

Congratulations to the new Master Fellows and Fellows! Nominations for the 2027 Fellows and Master Fellows will open in early 2027.
