MarkAlain Déry, DO, FACOI, was recently featured in an interview with DocWireNews on the role of AI in clinical care, and its capacity to serve as an assistant for physicians that enhances, rather than replaces, the art of medicine. As the article puts it, “He emphasizes that while AI can help sift through vast amounts of data, refine differential diagnoses, and highlight nuances a human might miss, clinicians’ experience and judgment remain central to patient care. ... Advocating for strong regulation, transparency, and clinician training, he frames AI as a tireless assistant that can make clinical decisions smarter and more patient-centered—so long as it stays a co-pilot, not an autopilot.” Congratulations, Dr. Déry!

Robert Good, DO, MACOI, has been named to the Des Moines University (DMU) Medicine and Health Sciences Board of Trustees. This year, they endowed the Dr. Robert and Brenda Good Faculty Development Academy to advance teaching excellence, educational research, and leadership among DMU faculty; they also supported the Robert and Brenda Good Active Learning Practice Laboratory through a gift to DMU’s Purple and Proud campaign. Angela L. Walker Franklin, PhD, the CEO and President of DMU, said, "Dr. Good's deep understanding of osteopathic medicine and his passion for developing the next generation of health professionals make him an outstanding addition to our board.” Congratulations, Dr. Good!

Virginia Irwin-Scott, DO, MBA, FACOI, recently became a Fellow in Artificial Intelligence and Medicine (FAIM) through the American College of Artificial Intelligence and Medicine. Congratulations, Dr. Irwin-Scott!
