Reuniting in Baltimore will be “a magical experience”
2022 ACOI Annual Convention and Scientific Sessions

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of walking into the hall at the Annual Convention and seeing the familiar faces, engaging in the lively sessions, and enjoying the excitement of connecting with new internists and subspecialists who are coming to experience the conference for the first time. Robert Hasty, DO, FACOI characterized it best when he said that the Annual Convention is a "magical experience.”

Check out all the ways to reconnect:

  • Participate in educational sessions:
    • We are offering the classics that we’ve all come to rely on like the ACOI longtime favorite – Tests I Wish You’d Never Ordered led once again by Gerald W. Blackburn, DO, MACOI.
    • There are three Friday, October 21 sessions on the latest in the world of managing pandemics. Attend The Ever-Changing Epidemiology During COVID-19 presented by MarkAlain Dery, DO, FACOI, and the session, Pandemic Vaccine Guidance: What's the Latest, presented by Liam R. Sullivan, DO. Looking for more information on the latest epidemic? Check out Patrick J. Kenney’s session on Monkeypox where he will be discussing the epidemiology, clinical manifestations, and treatment, including the risks and benefits of vaccination.
    • Karen J. Nichols, DO, MS, MACOI, will be leading the session Ethical Dilemmas in End-of-Life Care tackling topics such as describing the ethical difference of the end result of choosing to withhold versus withdraw treatment.
    • State licensing sessions will be offered covering several key topics, including ethics, human trafficking, medical errors, HIV/AIDS, and more.
    • Check out the entire agenda here.

  • Lively keynotes from authors, physicians, and entrepreneurs will cover topics from physician wellness, to finding workplace joy, to the need for drug patent reform.
