Teresa Braden, DO, FACOI, has been recognized by The Inner Circle as a Pinnacle Professional Member for her contributions to internal and emergency medicine. The Inner Circle is a publisher that spotlights professionals, executives, and officials across industries. Dr. Braden was acknowledged for her leadership and commitment to improving patient care, particularly in her role as Chief Quality Officer at UCHealth Parkview Medical Center. Congratulations, Dr. Braden!

Robert Cain, DO, MACOI, was featured on The Doug Wagner Morning Show, an Eastern Iowa radio program that provides updates on top news stories. Dr. Cain spoke about facing the issues of the medical field’s primary care shortage and decreased public trust toward healthcare professionals.

Joseph Giaimo, DO, MACOI, was selected to present this year's Commencement address at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine – Georgia. Dr. Giamio is a 1987 graduate of PCOM, and spoke on May 15 before the 54 students who received doctoral and graduate degrees. Congratulations to Dr. Giamio on this honor!

Congratulations to Robert Good, DO, MACOI, on the establishment of the Dr. Robert and Brenda Good Faculty Development Academy at Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences. The academy is a new initiative to advance excellence in teaching, educational research, and leadership among DMU faculty members. Dr. Good is a 1977 graduate of DMU’s College of Osteopathic Medicine; he and his wife Brenda provided a generous gift to fund the academy. The Goods’ investment will provide permanent resources to help faculty members strengthen their teaching skills, foster leadership, engage in educational research, and collaborate across disciplines.

Emily Hurst, DO, FACOI, has been published in Beckers Hospital Review. Her article, “3 Benefits of Bringing Telemedicine into your Critical Care/ICU”, highlights specific ways telemedicine can enhance patient care as well as support hospital staff and operational efficiency in the critical care/ICU setting. Congratulations, Dr. Hurst!

Jeanette Kelley, DO, FACOI, has started a new position as Hospitalist at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Oklahoma City, OK. Congratulations, Dr. Kelley!

Joshua Lenchus, DO, was selected as the inaugural representative for CVS Health and Aetna to recognize Jewish American Heritage Month in May. Dr. Lenchus is the Medical Director of Aetna Medicare’s Florida Market, and shared his experiences in a CVS Health news piece, including his memories of Jewish American Heritage Month’s first observance in 2006 and his reflections on antisemitism. Congratulations, Dr. Lenchus!

Congratulations to Student Doctor Aliyah Stephens of Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine! Her poster, “Enhancing Cardiac Arrest Survival: Determining the Efficacy of a Hemoglobin-Based Oxygen Carrier,” won the Medical Student Clinical Vignette Poster Contest at the American College of Physician’s Internal Medicine Meeting 2025.

David Tolentino, DO, FACOI, has been appointed interim dean of the Jerry M. Wallace School of Osteopathic Medicine, effective July 1, 2025. Dr. Tolentino has served as associate dean for clinical affairs at Campbell Medicine since 2016. In this role, he will continue providing the medical school with academic and operational leadership. Dr. Michael L. Adams, vice president for academic affairs and provost, said Dr. Tolentino’s experience, professionalism, and deep understanding of the school’s mission position him to lead the school with confidence and clarity. He will collaborate with current dean and Chief Academic Officer Dr. Brian Kessler during this leadership transition. Congratulations, Dr. Tolentino!

Tina Valdez, DO, FACOI, has received the designation of Certified Physician Development Coach. This certification is from the Physician Coaching Institute, and offers specialized coaching concepts, structures and tools to develop expertise in the field of physician coaching. Congratulations to Dr. Valdez on this accomplishment!
