Alan Atkinson, DO, FACOI, was recently featured for his latest contributions in medical writing, teaching, and mentorship. After a career spanning three decades in pulmonology and sleep medicine, he has continued to channel his passion into education and scholarly work. “As I step away from daily clinical duties, I’m eager to continue contributing through written scholarship and teaching,” said Dr. Atkinson. “I look forward to collaborating with institutions and platforms dedicated to evidence-based medicine and respiratory health.”

Christopher Bolich, DO, FACOI, has joined Cooper University Health Care in Cape May County, New Jersey. He will bring his decades of patient-centered care to practice palliative medicine. Congratulations to Dr. Bolich on this new opportunity!

Humayun “Hank” Chaudhry, DO, MACOI, has been named by the American Osteopathic Foundation (AOF) as the 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award honoree. Dr. Chaudhry will be formally recognized at the AOF Honors Gala on Friday, September 26, 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee. Congratulations to Dr. Chaudry on this huge honor!

Sam Dabit, DO, FACOI, was recently honored with the Mississippi Osteopathic Medical Association (MOMA) Reggie Stewart, DO, Preceptor of the Year Award. MOMA awarded Dr. Dabit at the 44th Annual Coast Conference. The Reggie Stewart, DO, Preceptor of the Year Award honors an osteopathic physician in Mississippi who actively shapes the profession’s future through clinical teaching, mentoring, and involvement with osteopathic medical students. The honoree is selected by medical students who are asked to identify a preceptor who made a tangible difference in their training. Congratulations, Dr. Dabit!

Samantha Erb, DO, FACOI, has started a new position as an internal medicine physician at Baptist Health in Jacksonville, Florida. Congratulations, Dr. Erb!

Scott Girard, DO, MBA, FACOI, has joined AdventHealth Medical Group Multispecialty at South Asheville in North Carolina. He will offer primary care for patients ages 18 and older, with a specialized focus on complex patient care and geriatric care for older adults. “I enjoy the complex challenge of medicine and caring for patients,” Dr. Girard said of this new role. “I take the responsibility of care seriously and I will work hard to make sure things are done correctly and to the best of my ability.” Congratulations, Dr. Girard!

Rick Greco, DO, MACOI, served as the master of ceremonies and keynote speaker at this year’s Trinity Health System graduation. Dr. Greco is Trinity Health System’s internal medicine program director, and the graduation ceremony was for the program’s third-ever class of internal medicine residents. Congratulations, Dr. Greco!

Cindy Hou, DO, MBA, FACOI, recently celebrated the 35th anniversary of the Northeastern Infection Control Educators (NICE) program, along with her fellow program facilitators. The course was created in 1990 by the New Jersey State Department of Health, in conjunction with the Northern New Jersey and Southern New Jersey Chapters of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC). Held twice a year at the New Jersey Hospital Association in Princeton, New Jersey, it draws participants from across the country and the globe. Dr. Hou has had the privilege of lecturing on Antimicrobial Stewardship for this course. Congratulations to Dr. Hou and all of the NICE program facilitators!

Camilo Andrés Ruiz, DO, FACOI, recently published his book, Residency to Revenue. The book is a practical guide for medical students, residents, and early-career physicians who want to build successful clinical practices and thriving businesses. It will provide student readers with tools and strategies that will help them become self-sufficient professionals. Congratulations to Dr. Ruiz on this accomplishment!

Chadwell Vail, DO, FACOI, has started a new position as general internist at Prisma Health in Columbia, South Carolina. Congratulations, Dr. Vail!
