Robert A. Cain, DO, FAODME, MACOI, President and CEO of AACOM, and Steven J. Halm, DO, FAAP, FACP, FACOI, founding dean of Xavier University College of Osteopathic Medicine, were featured in an Inside Higher Ed article about new medical schools opening and how that may help with the nationwide physician shortage in the US. Congratulations, Dr. Cain and Dr. Halm!

MarkAlain Déry, DO, FACOI, MPH, was recently published in the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) Health Equity Series. In his article, he reflected on the current Ebola outbreak through the lens of his experience responding to the West Africa Ebola outbreak and what both reveal about global health equity. Congratulations, Dr. Déry!

Emily Hurst, DO, represented the Michigan Osteopathic Association and the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) at the signing of House Bill 5455, legislation that permanently protects the ability of out-of-state and telehealth physicians to practice in Michigan through the interstate medical compact. Congratulations and thank you to Dr. Hurst for advocating to protect physician rights and expand patient access!

Carol Kirila, DO, MACOI, was honored with the Medical Advisory Board Distinguished Service Award from the National Kidney Foundation (NKF). This award recognizes Dr. Kirila’s outstanding contributions to kidney health education, advocacy and community service, as well as her leadership in advancing the mission of the NKF across the region. Dr. Kirila serves as Chair of the Medical Advisory Board for the NKF of Western Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma and is a member of the NKF Health Equity Committee. In her work, she has helped educate physicians, raise awareness about kidney health and improve patient outcomes. Congratulations, Dr. Kirila!

Ryan Morgan, DO, FACOI, presented at the Endocrine Society’s annual conference ENDO 2026, in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Morgan was a featured co-author of the study “Weight Reduction After 1 Year of Oral Bivamelagon in Acquired Hypothalamic Obesity.” Congratulations, Dr. Morgan!

Seger S. Morris, DO, MBA, FACOI, and Richard Thacker, DO, MACOI, were featured speakers at the Mississippi Osteopathic Medical Association (MOMA) 45th Annual Coast Conference. Dr. Morris was the event’s keynote speaker, and Dr. Thacker made his American Osteopathic Association (AOA) Update presentation as the organization’s president-elect. Congratulations, Dr. Morris and Dr. Thacker!

Laura Rosch, DO, FACOI, wrote an article published in The DO, the magazine of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), about DO Day on the Hill. In it, Dr. Rosch shared her DO Day experience, along with the perspectives of two osteopathic medical students who attended the advocacy event. Congratulations, Dr. Rosch!

William B. Workman, DO, FACOI, had an article featured with Bronson Health’s Bronson Positivity program. The piece, “How Heritage Shaped My Leadership,” is a reflection on identity, heritage and belonging as related to his Filipino heritage, in light of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Congratulations, Dr. Workman!
