Republican Committee leaders for the House Ways and Means and Energy and Commerce Committees have announced a hearing with five of the biggest health insurance company CEOs on the subject of making health care more affordable. The hearing will take place on January 22. The hearing, which follows the expiration of the Affordable Care Act enhanced premium tax credits, is expected to be the first in a series to examine the causes of higher health care prices. Company CEOs in attendance will be UnitedHealth Group, CVS Health, Elevance Health, The Cigna Group, and Ascendiun (the parent company of Blue Shield of California).

The panel of witnesses will appear before the House Committee on Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health at 9:45 AM ET, and the House Committee on Ways and Means at 2:30 PM ET. Links for listening to the hearings can be found here and here.
