Fellow and Master Fellow Nominations, Memorial Award Nominations, and Annual Award Nominations
Nominations are open for the ACOI Fellowship, Master Fellowship, Memorial Awards, and Annual Awards. If you have been considering showing your support for a fellow member, or applying to the Conclave of Fellows, now is the time! The deadline for all nominations is May 31, 2025.
ACOI Fellow and Master Fellow Nominations
Becoming an ACOI Fellow or Master Fellow is an incredible chance to demonstrate your commitment to the osteopathic internal medicine profession, take your ACOI membership to a new level, and step into a leadership role.
- Eligibility for the designation of Fellow (FACOI) is available to physicians who are certified in internal medicine by AOBIM or ABIM and who have been an active ACOI member for at least two years. View the list of eligible members.
- The Gillum Society of Master Fellows (MACOI) honors active ACOI members who have demonstrated outstanding past and present contributions to the College or to osteopathic Internal Medicine. Review the detailed eligibility guidelines.

Nominations for Master Fellows should take the form of a letter detailing the individual's accomplishments and activities deserving consideration. Please email your nominations with a current CV to acoi@acoi.org.
Annual Awards and Memorial Awards
The ACOI Memorial Awards recognize the legacy and contributions of David Susser, DO, MACOI, and Anthony J. Malcoun, DO, MACOI.
- The Susser Award is open to ACOI members who are internal medicine residents or 4th year students who have matched to internal medicine. The recipient will be awarded a $10,000 honorarium and a travel stipend of $1,000.
- The Malcoun Award is open to ACOI members who are nephrology fellows. The recipient will be awarded a $2,500 honorarium and a travel stipend of $1,000.
Eligible medical students, residents, and nephrology fellows may submit nominations to acoi@acoi.org.
ACOI is also seeking to recognize its Internist of the Year, Teacher of the Year, and Researcher of the Year. To nominate a member, please review the criteria and write a letter detailing the individual's accomplishments and activities deserving consideration. Award recipients will receive a $1,000 cash stipend. Nominations should be emailed to acoi@acoi.org.
All awards will be presented at the ACOI 2025 Awards Ceremony on Friday, October 10, 2025, in Marco Island, Florida.
