I hope you were able to read the email sent recently about the wonderful things our ACOI Government Affairs team is doing to advocate for our membership. You can find that information on our website. For all the work this team has done this year, I am very grateful. I am grateful for the advocacy they are providing to practitioners during this challenging year, which includes, but is not limited to:
- Participation in an amicus brief to the Supreme Court in support of the United States Preventative Services Task Force (USPSTF) to protect public health and preventative care services
- Expressed opposition to expansive cuts in Medicaid
- Opposed cuts to medical research through the NIH and
- Called on Congress to prioritize robust funding for the NIH
A big THANK YOU to those that are serving on our Government Affairs Committee and to Tim McNichol, JD, Deputy Executive Director, ACOI, and Camille Bonta, Advocacy Consultant, for driving these efforts.
