ACOI Updates Advocacy Agenda

by ACOI

May 2, 2025

The ACOI has updated its Advocacy Agenda, which will guide all advocacy legislative and regulatory efforts over the next two years. The new agenda will reflect the results of an ACOI member survey conducted earlier this year, as well as the input of the ACOI Government Affairs Committee.

The topic areas receiving the most votes by ACOI members as “very important” were: Medicare physician payment, physician workforce and graduate medical education, access to care, and health system reform.

Scope of practice and population health and prevention were also identified as issues of top importance for many ACOI members.

The survey reveals that the issues most important to ACOI members have not changed significantly since the last ACOI advocacy priority survey two years ago. This underscores, first, that the needs and concerns of the physician community have not been adequately met through lawmaker and regulatory action, and second, why continued advocacy engagement by physicians is critical.

ACOI thanks those who completed the survey. The latest ACOI policy and advocacy news, as well as opportunities to advocate, can be accessed in the ACOI Advocacy Action Center
