Last month, ACOI was represented at the Internal Medicine Education Advisory Board (IMEAB) meeting by CEO Karen Caruth, MBA; Senior Director of Education & Professional Development Kristan Davis, MEd; and ACOI Board Member, Joanna K. Baker, DO, FACOI, FAODME, FHM. The IMEAB is part of the Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine (AAIM), an organization whose mission is to promote the advancement and professional development of its members who prepare the next generation of internal medicine physicians and leaders through education, research, engagement, and collaboration. The IMEAB is a forum for discussion, collaboration, and consensus-building around issues that affect the education of internal medicine physicians.
Held in Alexandria, Virgina, this in-person meeting occurs twice a year, allowing attendees to discuss current trends, future programs, and organization initiatives that affect the medical education field.
Ms. Caruth also represented ACOI at the American Association of Medical Society Executives (AAMSE) National Specialty CEO conference in Rosemount, Illinois. This summit focuses on timely insights and education around current issues that specialty societies face, and creates space for discussion, problem-solving, and sharing of best practices.
