ACOI 2026: The Osteopathic Philosophy in Practice

August 28, 2026

Greetings, everyone! We are just about one month away from ACOI 2026, and it is building up to be an extraordinary time to gather, learn, and grow.

As this special time draws closer, I have been thinking about our theme, Connecting to the DO Within: IM—the Osteopathic Way, and the numerous opportunities we will have to engage in our osteopathic skills and philosophy.

As you already know, osteopathic medicine is different because of its big picture and whole-person focus. It's a perspective that is inherently necessary to internal medicine and highly understanding of the ways the different systems of the body are connected. Beyond this, the hands-on element of osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT), is unique to what we do, and speaks to osteopathic medicine’s people-first approach.

All of this means that these opportunities—to connect in-person with one another, connect with the practice of OMT, and connect to the meaning of osteopathic medicine—are all tied together.

Seeing the big picture of what we can accomplish for our patients is possible only when we choose to see the big picture of our community as a whole. And there is nothing like coming together as a group, and reconnecting with practices like OMT, to make this happen.

From hands-on workshops to “Ask an OMT Professional” breakout sessions, I'm excited for you to see all we've got in store for you in the realm of OMT. You can also read through the agenda for more exciting highlights at ACOI 2026

I look forward to seeing you all in Palm Springs next month!
