Are You Taking Advantage of EHR Incentive Programs?
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services announced the creation of a one-stop online resource to provide up-to-date, detailed information about Electronic Health Record (EHR) incentive programs. The Medicare and Medicaid EHR incentive programs will provide incentive payments to eligible providers and others to adopt and demonstrate meaningful use of EHR’s. The incentive programs will begin in 2011 and will decrease each year with no incentives available after 2016. A participant may not receive more than $40,000 in Medicare incentive payments over the 5-year program. You may view the new resource by visiting www.cms.gov/EHRIncentivePrograms/.
