2013 CPT Code Set Released
The American Medical Association (AMA) released its 2013 Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) code set on September 13. The new code set should be used for claims filed as of January 1, 2013. The codes are updated annually to reflect scientific advances in medical, surgical and diagnostic services. Among other changes, the AMA states this year’s revisions will better capture the work involved in managing patients with complex chronic conditions within an integrated healthcare delivery system such as a medical home or affordable care organization.
