The New York College of Osteopathic Medicine of the New York Institute of Technology, has initiated a national search for a Chairperson for its Department of Medicine. The successful applicant will oversee and provide leadership for all academic, clinical and research activities of the department. We are looking for an insightful leader who can establish an inspiring vision for the Department’s future; who is committed to growing and achieving prestige through the success of the Department and its members. He or she should have a commitment to achieving these goals while establishing a culture of responsibility and fairness. The candidate we seek will have experience and a strong interest in medical education and research and will have compiled an outstanding record of professional achievement. A proven record of securing substantial funding from major granting agencies and research foundations would be a plus. The new chairperson will have demonstrated ability to recruit, select, and retain excellent faculty by providing mentorship and an environment conducive to high quality patient care, research and educational excellence.

Required Qualifications: Applicants must have an earned D.O. degree from a COCA (Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation) accredited college of osteopathic medicine (COM); successful completion of an Internal Medicine Residency and certification in Internal Medicine by the AOA. Must be licensed or license eligible to practice medicine in New York State. Applicants should have prior medical education experience and an evidenced record of teaching excellence, research productivity, publications and academic achievement. Additional requirements for the position include proven leadership skills in an academic environment and experience in research administration and program development. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Current employment is in Wisconsin at a brand new 50 bed, nonteaching hospital in Janesville, full time and a 250 bed facility in La Crosse for night time coverage.

Academic Osteopathic Internist, Ohio
ACADEMIC OSTEOPATHIC INTERNIST– Ohio. The Department of Community Internal Medicine at Cleveland Clinic is seeking a board certified/eligible Osteopathic Internist for a position affiliated with the Internal Medicine Residency at South Pointe Hospital, a Cleveland Clinic Hospital. South Pointe Hospital is one of the largest osteopathic teaching hospitals in the state of Ohio. It is a 213 bed acute care community teaching hospital dually accredited by the Joint Commission and American Osteopathic Association. The Residency Program is affiliated with Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
The position would combine faculty participation in the Internal Medicine residency program with Internal Medicine practice in a traditional, well-established group. The practice is based in a modern facility adjacent to South Pointe Hospital, in close proximity to outpatient and inpatient teaching settings. Members of this group provide excellent coverage to both outpatients and inpatients Monday through Friday as well as through a weekend call coverage rotation.
